November 06 I spent 10 days in the northwoods of Maine with my dad and 2 of my friends. We stayed in a 12x20 tent over 200 miles from the nearest paved road and any sign of civilization. We hunted hard and also set out over 100 traps for pine marten. Only got a 4 pointer and a few marten, but the experience produced a lifetime of memories. How amazing it is to hunt woods that show no sign of human existence ever being there.

When I'm not hunting, I'm scouting for next season. I am able to hunt N.J. from sept. to jan 31. with bow. I trap muskrat,coon,coyote,fox,beaver, and otter from november to march. I also trap snapping turtles from april to sept. for commercial seafood mkt.

I'm 33 years old and addicted to the outdoors. Whether I'm pursuing whitetail deer, largemouth bass, muskrat,or snapping turtle, just being in the woods or on the water is where I belong. Providing meat and money for my family by harvesting the renewable natural resources that God put on this earth gives me true satisfaction. I've been married for 10 years and have 3 children. We also have 6 dogs, 3 cats, 2 rabbits and 30 chickens.

Grew up hunting and trapping in Maine, where a bad hunter is a hungry man. Moved to New Jersey where the deer are half the size but much more plentiful.

Hickory Creek bow-70 lb draw-24 inches axle to axle shooting a 21 inch arrow with steel force broadheads and natural turkey feathers. Also use a Tred Barta longbow with homemade cedar arrows, natural turkey feathers and Wensel Woodsman broadheads. Realtree hardwoods camo. No Scent-lok!

Be patient-do the work. Don't be a weekend warrior. Hunting is a year round sport.
