My husband is from Springhill, Louisiana. How close is that to you? I owe it to my husband getting me into hunting. Before I met him I was a Hooters girl who never realy thought about going in the woods. I would sit and watch him shoot his bow for hours taking it all in. I educated myself on all aspects of hunting before I ever picked up a bow. I would go and sit with him(and never saw anything)and he would tell me everything he could think of about wind direction, walking in to your stand, ect....
Opening bow weekend last season, we had 6 good size does within 50 yards and we were filming and I couldn't get a shot. The next weekend I went with a film crew from a local hunting show and after 15 minutes had a mature doe 20 yds broadside. My husband will never let me live that down that I got my first deer ever without him. Actualy, I took 7 deer last season and I was either by myself or with my son. It will only take your wife one time with a close encounter and a bow in her hand and she will be hooked. I choose to bow hunt all season because it is so much more rewarding. My son is working hard on pulling back a 40 lb draw so he can get his first with a bow. My 3, well almost 4 yr old daughter is hoping to get her first deer this year with a little 243 single shot we got the kids. Sometimes I think my kids are more hooked than I am. It keeps them active and out from in front of the tv though. HAPPY HUNTING!!
