If i had to pick one it would have to be the first deer i scouted, set up on and eventually shot at close range with my bow. I've killed bigger bucks than the small 8 pt, but none that were more rewarding. When you work at it,scout and put it all together. To me thats what makes a rewarding and challenging hunt, regardless of how much the deer scores.

Gut shooting an 11pt while filming a hunt in Illinois with my friend Rob Snyder of the Hunters Journal. Thank God the film quality was poor and didnt end up on some type of blooper video! There is nothing worse than a bad placed shot. We did blood trail and recover the deer. I did catch some grieve at camp and rightfully so!

Bass fish,3-D shoots, kayaking the rivers and creeks fishing for smallmouth, help coach sons baseball, spend time at the lake with my kids. Hanging out with my girl friend Andrea. razorback football.

Started out hunting Ar.tree rats with my great grandpa, as a younk kid i tagged along on many quail hunts with my dad, uncle. I lived in Colorado as a teenager and hunted mule deer, moved back to Arkansas in my twentys and started whitetail hunting. Whitetails were tough and it took several years and dozens of mistakes before having any success. About 10yrs ago i was introduced to bow hunting by a friend. I have done a little turkey hunting and really loved it, hope to do more this spring.

HERE ARE A FEW THINGS THAT HAVE WORKED FOR ME.#1 PLAY THE WIND, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME, YOU CANT KILL A MATURE BUCK IN A CHUNK OF WOODS WHERE THERE ISNT ONE LIVING! SCOUT, SCOUT AND SCOUT SOME MORE, IF YOUR LUCKY YOU MAY FIND AN AREA WHERE THERE ARE SEVERAL, AND IF SO DONT TELL ANYONE. NOT EVEN YOUR MOTHER! FIRST CHANCE WHEN YOUR WORKING OR AWAY A SO CALLED BUDDY WILL BE ELMER FUDDING THRU YOUR HONEY HOLE. MY #1 SET UP FIND A BIG RUB LINE LEADING INTO OR OUT OF THICK BEDDING AREA, EVEN BETTER IF LOCATED HIGH ON RIDGELINE SADDLE OR FINGER. WAIT FOR A GOOD COLD FRONT WHEN THE WIND IS RIGHT. THEN SLIP IN EARLY AND CUT HIM OFF AS HE TRIES TO MAKE IT BACK TO HIS BEDDING AREA.
