MY FIRST DEER

Ok here goes you have to under stand this has been a long time ago,in other words many hunting moon's ago.With that being said my brother who is 5 years my junior went hunting one Saturday,the reason I know it was Saturday it was the only day I had off work.Any way he left me at a good place ,we were hunting from the ground,we did not have tree stands yet.I was sitting being real quite I heard a squirrel barking like crazy ,so I get up to go see if I could find him/her.When I got to where I could see the squirrel,I see some legs I thought dog's cause they were brown looking .I had never saw a deer in the wild before ha,ha ,so I sneaked over to look at the "dog's" .Low and behold it was 2 buck's fighting WOW!!!!! .So I stood watching them for a while ,they put their heads down pawed the ground ,snorted at each other locked their antlers and it was on . I guess I watched them for 5 minuets or more if only I had known what I know now,I would have killed them both .But being a rookie I picked out the biggest deer and started shooting ,I was sooting a 5 shot auto Browning 12 ga. with 00 buck shot.Man was I trembling , I shot the one in the right front shoulder , down he went he kicked and I shot ha,ha he was dead the first shot but he kept kicking and I kept shooting .Anyway I empty my gun on him ,the other one trots off . I am trying to reload the shell wont go in the gun ,I look down ha,ha, I am trying to put a zippo cig. lighter in my gun rotlmbo it was sooo funny.My brother comes over ask what's all the shooting about ,I am outta breath can't talk so excited I just point ha,ha.He starts laughing ,I ask what's so funny he says look in your hand ,I still have the lighter in my hand, I bust out laughing again .We go over and it's a small 5 point ,I thought he was a giant lol.He was already tenderized ,any way after 150 or so deer later I still get excited when I kill one no matter the size .HOPE YA'LL ENJOY MY MEMORIES I SURE DID LOL CJ

FISHING JOURNAL FROM YEARS PAST .

JAN.10,2005 Went today with a good friend of mind,we met at the boat landing ,he lives on 1
side of the lake and I live on the other.It's 50 miles from my house and 30
miles from his house.We fished and rode from 8;00am till4;00 pm,we most times
stay till dark,the fish did not jump in the boat today.I caught 3 bluegills 2
catfish and 1 mudfish,for you yankees that's a bowfin.  He
caught 4 bluegills ,1 blackbass,just barely a keeper,they gotta be 12 inches.But
we had a good time this is the first time I have been since I fell in the
bathtub last june.The water is 4 feet below full stage and falling,and dingy,and
still cold the little fish were cold as ice.LIKE THE OLD SAYING GO'S A BAD DAY
FISHING IS BETTER THAN A GOOD DAY AT WORK JAN,28,2005
Just got thourgh making 2 bulegill/crappie handmade rods,10 and a half foot
long,soon as it gets warm I am going to try them out .
JAN,29,2005 I took a butt end from a zebco fly rod ,and a top part of a ulgy stick,and glued
them togather,and put new giudes on them ,they are nice.On the other I took a
shakesphere butt from a spinning rod and put a ulgy stick top end ,and replaced
the eyes to match,with the ceramic eyes I think they will do good work I will
let ya'll know.I am going to put 2 small spinning reels on them ,I may use
shiamnio or south bend I have plenty of both,and put 10lb.test spider wire on
them and get after them little fishes. FEB,2 2005 Hope the weather break's soon,and I get rid of this cold so I can go try out my
new rod's I made.I am about to get a case of cabin fever,I want out. MAY 6 ,2005 I went wed.5-04-05 we went to the santee river the upper part of lake
marion,fished 
down
trough some log and stuff.Caught 2 dozen bluegills and 4 catfish good ones
,caught them all on a fly rod that is more fun than a man shou;d have 
see

My buddy and I went to the swamp
today and caught 60 bream ,had some good ones and a few small ones some good
eating ,saw some big snakes ,no gators don't knpw where thier were.
had a good time JUN ,22 2005 my same buddy and me went fishing yesterday,caught a good mess of bream or
bluegill ,got 5 big shellcrackers,thier are like a bluegill but get a lot
bigger,my buddy got a lawyer,that's what FURBAR call's a bowfin, we call
them mud fish.We had a great time .I took some pictures got to go 1 more time to
finish the roll then I will get them developed and see if I can put them on here
can't wait for ya'll to see my little piece of heaven .See you soon bye for now
and keep them lines tight. I would have finished the film yesterday but it started to thunder so
we had to get out I don't like to be in the swamp with the lighting and stuff I
want to get a little older if you know what I mean.lol JUL20 2005 we went to the swamp yesterday ,the water is so high you can see under it .
two of us fished hard ,we got 12 mollies, to pepole who don't know
thier the same as warmouth.Three flyer brim,five bluegills,one catfish .I caught
two bass but they were too short.the bass have to be 12 inches long the ones I
caught were 11 and one half inches if they would have stuck thier tounge out
they would have been keepers
 had a good time ,but I have never went and not have a ball I love the
swamp man it's a pertty place a little piece of heaven. man
it was hot and muggy there  we
caught all these fish down in the grass beds man that is fun with a fly rod JUL 27 2005 went yesterday back to the swamp back in the grass and trash piles ,I caught 22 nice mollies.3 bluegills
and 1 catfish,just got done cleaning them ,getting ready for a big fish fry on
the 7th of aug.over at my girlfrien 's house the 1 I hunt with .Yes I have  ,my wife's permission to have a girlfriend.Any the water was down bout
2 feet from last week ,and the fish were biting better it
was hot down there but we stuck with them and both got a good mess of fish ,my
buddy caught 28 fish mostly bluegill's,talk to ya'll next trip tight lines and
good fishing,and please don't litter our waterway's it
makes me so mad when our so called sportsman throw thier trash in the water ,if
I see them I will turn them in . AUG ,5 ,2005 went to the swamp yesterday to caught 14 mollies ,1 shellcracker,1 bluegill
,caught a bunch little tater heads that's a non keeper.My bud caught a big mess
of bluegills,and a couple of mollies.We had a fine time .Talk to ya'll later be
safe and keep your lines tight. AUG,8,2005 my wife and I went to a friends pond and got 15 chest brim,for those that don't know you have to hold them
up against your chest
to get the hook out
we did
not get there till 6;45 tonite fished till 8;30 they was not biting too good but we had a ball ,I love to
see her catch them AUG 9,2005 went back to the pond today and got another dozen big brim had fun again I love
being retired it's a good job. AUG 12TH,2005 went to the swamp yesterday the water is really screwed up up the swamp it's muddy and down the
swamp it's clear and running like a millrace 
fish don't know where to hide or hunt food we
fished hard and only got 20 bluegills 14 mollies and 1 yellow catfish. we had a lot of fun I took a lot of pictures might learn how to post
them one day .Talk to ya'll later tight lines and good fishing. ps be
veery,veery lol,careful out there.wear your life jackets you never know when you
will need them. AUG 12 2005 No gators ain't seen none this year some of them sportsmen have shot at them , if I see
them I will turn thier sorrya** in cause they are a protected animal , they
don't bother anyone if you leave them alone , it's like the people going down
and drinking beer and shooting all the snakes they see ,that ain't rite. I am sorry it just makes me mad when they do stuff like that ,throw
beer cans and pop bottles in the river ,ice bags plasctic straps that hold the
drinks .I will post a picture about what I taking about,it will make you sick. JAN,6TH,2006 well deer season is over I am ready to get back to fishing ,as soon as the water
settles down some . Another year to follow shortly . cj

2005 HUNTING

Well here we are a brand new season ,I took my wife to the airport this morining
,went to the woods got on the power line stand .At 8.00 a grey fox came by to
fast to smack sat there till 9.45 I told the deer ya'll have 15 more mins. to come
out where I can fix you with musroom gravy and taters ,I saw a real pertty
butterfly on the ground and I wacthed him for a bit ,looked back up the
powerline and a big deer was halfway into the bushes ,did not see it's head
d** butterflies
o well
the deer is still in the pasture
I guess that will teach me to do the job at hand . AUD 18TH went today stayed till 10;00 did not see anything but bushytails ,theres allways
next time, went to dnr today and got my doe tags we get 4 for 20;00 see ya SEPT 12TH 2005 Things are not well in mudville tonite ,went and got on the powerline ,got there
at 7.07 pm ,at 7.45 a doe came out to the corn .I was feeling sorry because it
was not doe season yet ,she went back in the woods a little ways and then she
came back and starting eating .I watched her for a bit ,then out stepped a buck
,looked like a 6 point he was a shooter ,he had horns
so I
lined him up he was broadside held it on his shoulder and put fire in the
hole,he humped up and went into the woods .
the doe followed him , I went to get help from my girlfriend ,she only
lives 5 min. from the hunting ground .We went back with lights and looked for 2
hrs. no luck we found where the doe came out of the block I was hunting the buck
was not with her thats a good thing I hope ,we are going in the am and hunt till
9 then see if we can find him.more to follow next pm.Good news I hope see ya. SEPT . 13TH Well all I got is sore feet and we looked till 3.00pm no deer no blood ,nothing
but some sitrred up leaves , I guess I will have to take a miss on this one.
pmo I know that ,don't like to make a effort and then not get any
thing I guess thats why they call it hunting huh? SEPT.19TH 2005 we went to the swamp today ,sat from 6.30 am till 1.45 pm nothing but bushy
tails ,I guess they fed all night full moon you know. An old man told me the
best time to go hunting or fishing was when you got a chance ,not by by the moon
so there you go .  I will get them next time may go back wed. am TALK TO YOU LATER BE
CAREFUL AND STAY SAFE. SEPT21 2005 well today was a copy of monday ,except I heard some turkeys about sunup.We will
catch up with 1 soon. OCT.4TH Went to the powerline today got there at 500 pm stayed till dark nothing came
out ,theres allways next trip. OCT. 11TH 2005 Well I am outta here think I will go and try to catch some butterfly's ya'll
wish me luck ,ain't life great look out the window and see the drizzle and be
able to go hunting if you want ,life is good see ya ,I hope with pictures OCT 11TH. Well the pictures we took turned out with nothing on them ,did not see anything
,when I got home my wife had some fried brim we caught back in the summer man
they were good ,later 
life is still good OCT 25TH 2005 been sick all last week gettin better now .went to the powerline yesterday saw a
big doe at 630pm ,I just put a popup on the ground ,the doe kept looking at it
she never did settle down on the corn ,so she walked off did not get a shot.o
well she is still in the pasture lol ,went today did not see anything . NOV 1 2005 Well I had a good encounter today ,got to the popup on the power line at4;00 pm
bout i hr later I heard a buck grunting ,he grunted bout 10 or more times ,I
belive he was tending a doe .I know 1 thing from then till black dark I was on
the edge of my chair ,he never did show but I am getting closer to him . NOV3RD 2005 Went to the swamp today put out stink bait for hogs.Got in the stand at 609 am ,
I saw 2 at 10;00 am no shot 1 was real small so I let them walk .when I started
home saw 1 not as big as the one in the swamp ,did not weigh more than 20 lbs
whats up with that? o it was road kill no spots but a tiny baby next week I feel like its going to be a good one. NOV6TH 2005 Well I finally put one on the ground today .Got out of bed at 10;00 am ,went by
the store got some grits ,got to the woods a 11;o5 ,went to the cadillac stand
and filled the feeder .rode to the back toward the creek.Sat in the truck
watching the path I was fixing to go down.Went on in the woods toward the creek
had my swivel top bucket hunted to the creek ,sat down on the bucket at bout
12;30.Sat there looking for a place to buil a ground blind ,a big doe up out of
the swamp at 1'15 pm middle of the day deer bites the dirt.Called my girlfriend
hunter ,she came in the mule ,brought her chainsaw and cut a road to me ,we
loaded the deer she told me to sit tight and try to kill another 1 she would
take care of the doe .L ife is good NOV 7TH 2005 went to day got in the woods at 9;25 ,11 ;oo am 6 came out of the creek bed
,finallY got on 1 ,shot her in the brisket .She tryed to knock down a bush
before she got in the creek bottom ,she went bout 50 yards in ,its thick as
hello in there ,HHH looked for bout one and half hours ,finally found 1 drop of
blood and then she yelled John come on down boy I was happy when she said that DEC.7TH 2005 Well I finally got to feeling better and went to the woods today for the frist
time in a while.Went to fill my feeder ,took a hammer to repair the thing that
it was hanging on ,broke it the feeder fell on the ground still full on corn it
had quit working brought it home to work on .Checked the food plot of rye could not
belive the tracks in the rye ,looked like a lawn mower has been there going to spend the day there pertty quick.  went to the power line did not see any thing ,going in the am bout day
break ,we will see ,be careful out there good hunting DEC 8TH Well it poured rain today so I did not go hunting ,must be getting old ,one time in my life I would go any way DEC 19TH Well I went today to the high ground stands ,hunted bout 3 hrs. nothing moving
,did not even hear or see any brids. HHH went to the swamp to work on feeders ,water was to high ,could not
get to the gate. JAN 2ND2006 Well it's over for another year,come on aug.15th. ha,ha
went yesterday hunted form daybreak till 1;00 pm nothing went around the road to come out and found some tracks that made my
heart pound.I know what your thinking ,you can't eat tracks there were two sets one of a big doe and the other a big,big buck ,the
tracks were 6 inches long from the point to the dew claw and 3and one half
inches wide .I hope he don't get run over ,I am going to build me a ground blind
in his bedroom this summer
